How to eat HoneyStix
How do I eat HoneyStix you ask? There are many ways to open HoneyStix, but this is our favorite:
- Hold one end of the Straw.
- Bite or pinch the seam.
- The end will pop open!
- Slide your thumb and forefinger from the bottom end of the straw toward your mouth to push out the sweet nectar inside.
Why Should We SAVE the BEE?
Our planet’s food supply is absolutely dependent on pollination.
One out of every three bites of food Americans consume come from a plant visited by bees or other pollinators.
Honey bees pollinate essential crops critical to our good health and produce millions of dollars of honey every year.
In the last 40 years, honey bees have been struggling and populations are declining. This drastic rise in the number of disappearances of western honey bee colonies is called colony collapse disorder.
(CCD) Loss of pollinator habitats, toxic pesticides, and genetic modification of crops are all thought to be potential contributing factors, but more research is needed. With nearly 50 percent population losses being reported thus far in 2017, action is needed now more than ever.
Woodring with our vendor is saving our favorite pollinators by:
Research: Assisting OSU and WSU Honey Bee Labs in procuring much needed funding to conduct critical honey bee health research
Awareness: Partnering with non-profit organizations dedicated to protecting pollinators
Education: Teaching beekeeping skills to our community to maintain healthy honey bee colonies.
